VENICE ARCHITECTURE BIENNALE 2012 Photo Elias Redstone

The Brazilian pavilion with an installation by the urban designer of Brasilia Lucio Costa, which is accompanied by the statement: "The same people who rest in hammocks can, whenever necessary, build a new capital in three years' time." The minimalist Polish pavilion with walls and floors vibrating from the noises of neighbouring pavilions. An installation by London-based FAT architects Neon signs announce the Golden Lion-winning project by Urban Think Tank with writer Justin McGuirk and photographer Iwan Baan The Venice Architecture Biennale alternates with the Art Biennale and occupies the same buildings.
